Raising Quality Gentle Ranch horses with excellent minds, movement and longevity in the mountains of the Cariboo.

Nestled in the horsefly river valley grizzlies feast on Salmon, the wolves howl under a full moon and Black Creek Ranch sits at the base of horsefly mountain along Black Creek proper. Owned by John Adderly the ranch doubles as a cow/calf operation as well as breeding, raising and training functional all around ranch horses. Our horses are raised in large hilly pastures with creeks and Bush to navigate. We take our time with the raising And training process, going at the horses pace (Horse led training you could say). our colts get started no earlier than 3 or 4 and are lightly started until they are fully grown. All started and trained with the foundation of classical French dressage honing their development of functional movement and longevity. We aim to raise horses tough enough to rope bears off of and classy enough to take you to the show pen.
